Giovanna Kennedy, a broker with Compass in the Roaring Fork Valley, has been named the 2026 Recipient of the Colorado REALTORS® Diversity & Inclusion Individual Award. The Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) presented the award on Monday, Oct. 5, at its Inaugural Dinner in Colorado Springs.
The award is part of the CAR Diversity & Inclusion Awards, which recognize REALTORS® who actively work to further diversity and inclusion in the real estate industry. At the ceremony, presenters recognized Giovanna for connecting people with housing, education, financial resources, and trusted professionals.
The work behind the award
Spanish-language housing education. Giovanna partnered with the City of Glenwood Springs on the Foro de Vivienda Asequible (Affordable Housing Forum), held May 19, 2026, and described at the ceremony as Glenwood Springs' first affordable housing forum in Spanish. The room was full.
Hablamos de Negocios. Giovanna created this bilingual series for local entrepreneurs. The event is hosted annually and sponsored by the Glenwood Springs Chamber, with vendors on site.
Homeownership education. Giovanna supported Habitat for Humanity Roaring Fork Valley and the Financial Empowerment Center of the Rockies at a July 30, 2026, homeownership seminar in Glenwood Springs covering down payment assistance programs and the steps to becoming a homeowner. The Center offers free one-on-one financial counseling to adults in Pitkin, Garfield, and Eagle counties.
